Traditional folk medicine, or "cataract poking," is a practice passed down through generations. The treatment involves applying thorns from the back of the patient, without touching the eyes. It can treat various types of cataracts, such as pterygium, pinguecula, cataracts, and glaucoma, by using bitter rattan thorns to prick the bumps on the patient's back. It also helps alleviate various eye symptoms such as burning, itching, and watery eyes.
